Insights: Christian Bärens, the charismatic dance pro from "Let's Dance," unexpectedly departed at the age of 46. His friend, Irena Canova, confirmed the shocking news on a GoFundMe page set up to aid in funeral expenses. Bärens, who was employed at the renowned "Stepping Out Studios" in New York, worked alongside Sylvie Meis on the popular RTL show.

A shockwave has shaken the "Let's Dance" community as news of Christian Bärens' passing circulates. The professional dancer, who charmed audiences alongside Sylvie Meis in 2010, was only 46 years old.

Cologne - Fans of "Let's Dance" will undoubtedly remember Sylvie Meis (46), who graced the dance floor before presenting the RTL program from 2011 to 2017. While Daniel Hartwich (45) moderated alongside her, she was supported by none other than Christian Bärens. However, Bärens was eventually replaced by Christian Polanc (46) due to an injury.

Buona fortuna, Christian - A Heartbreaking Farewell

Alas, Bärens' lasting memory on "Let's Dance" is bittersweet. Meis danced her way to second place, a far cry from the 2022 victor, Gabriel Kelly (22). Before his stint on "Let's Dance," Bärens practiced his craft in New York, serving as a trainer at the famed "Stepping Out Studios" for several years. Tragically, the dance world will no longer see his luminous presence.

A colleague of Bärens confirmed his departure to express.de, saying, "Yes, unfortunately, it's true." Irena Canova, a friend of Bärens, also expresses her condolences on a GoFundMe page set up for his funeral. To her grief-stricken friends, she shares more details about his unexpected passing.

According to Canova's statement, Bärens was in the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn on the heart intensive care unit since April 26th. "He fought for two weeks, but he lost the battle," she said. Bärens passed away on May 14th. "His mother will come from Germany to take her son home," Canova noted.

"Christian Bärens was our friend and an exceptional Latin dance instructor," Canova reminisces. "Anyone who knew him will never forget his radiant personality. I was his student, and it was an honor to be taught by him."
