In a statement by Irena Canova, it was revealed that Christian Bärens was admitted to the "Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn on the cardiac intensive care unit" since April 26. "He fought for two weeks, but he lost the battle," she explained. Tragically, the former "Let's Dance" professional passed away on May 14. "His mother will come from Germany to take her son home," Canova said.

"Christian Bärens was our friend and a fantastic Latin dance teacher," she further explained, "anyone who met him will never forget his magnetic personality. I was his student, and it was an honor to be taught by him." Despite this sorrowful news, the RTL dance community has good news to share: Patricija and Alexandru Ionel, "Let's Dance" professionals, are expecting another baby!
