Switzerland’s weekend weather splits between fog and fleeting sunshine

Switzerland’s weekend weather brings a mix of conditions, with some areas enjoying mild sunshine while others remain shrouded in fog. Lowland regions face grey skies and chilly temperatures, but the north west and Alpine valleys could see brief improvements before another shift early next week.

Lowland areas are struggling with persistent fog, reducing visibility below 700 to 1,000 metres. Temperatures here barely climb above seven degrees, and grey skies dominate. Meanwhile, the north west near Möhlintal and the Chur Rhine Valley offer slightly better conditions, with highs of eleven degrees and occasional cloud breaks.

The weekend’s weather splits between foggy lowlands and sunnier pockets in the north west. Early next week brings rain to the south and stronger winds in the Alps, but no widespread changes. Mild conditions and high fog will likely continue, keeping snowfall at bay for now.
