Switzerland's Halloween Weekend: Enjoyable Weather, Caution Needed for Hikers

Switzerland is set for a mix of pleasant and cautionary weather conditions over the coming days, with Halloween and All Saints’ Day promising enjoyable weather until Saturday evening. Meteorologists, including Martin Puchegger from wetter.com, have shared their insights for the Allerheiligen weekend.

The weekend begins with Friday offering mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures, reaching 16°C (61°F) in Basel and 14°C (57°F) in the lowlands. Hikers should take care due to snow and avalanche risks at higher elevations.

Saturday starts sunny but turns cloudy, with light rain possible in some regions by evening. The pleasant weather for Halloween and All Saints’ Day is expected to hold until Saturday evening. A Martini summer, a period of unseasonably warm, sunny days, is forecast for the mountains.

Sunday brings overcast skies with scattered showers, clearing possible only in the lowlands by late evening. Monday sees the return of sunshine, with temperatures around 11°C (52°F) in the north and 18°C (64°F) in the south. Thursday promises a dry and sunny day across Switzerland, with temperatures up to 17°C (63°F) in the south.

While the upcoming days offer a mix of weather conditions, the Halloween and All Saints’ Day weekend promises enjoyable weather until Saturday evening. Hikers should remain cautious due to snow and avalanche risks at higher elevations. The return of sunshine is expected by Monday, with Thursday bringing a dry and sunny day across Switzerland.
