October 2025 brought extreme rainfall to parts of Switzerland, with some areas recording their highest precipitation levels in over a century. Several intense storms and prolonged fog followed by stormy weather contributed to the record-breaking rainfall. At Leukerbad, October’s precipitation ranked as the fifth-highest in 140 years of recorded data. Local stations reported totals rarely seen since the late 19th century.
