Switzerland Buried Under Early Winter Storm’s Heavy Snowfall
Heavy snowfall swept across Switzerland earlier this week, transforming landscapes and bringing early winter conditions. By midweek, the snow line had dropped to around 500 metres, covering valleys and mountains in a thick white layer. Several regions saw significant accumulations. Montana in Lower Valais recorded 76 cm of fresh snow, while Mürren in the Bernese Oberland measured 64 cm. Flumserberg in St. Gallen received 42 cm by Wednesday morning. The early snow has set a promising start for winter activities. Resorts can now prepare their slopes, and visitors may benefit from improved conditions. The snowfall also marks a shift toward colder weather patterns in the region.
