Swiss skiers dominate ski cross World Cup opener in Val Thorens

Eleven Swiss skiers have secured their spots in the ski cross World Cup opener at Val Thorens, France. The event kicks off on Thursday, 11 December 2025, with live coverage available on SRF across both competition days of Thursday Night Football.

Seven Swiss men earned places in Thursday Night Football’s heats, including Gil Martin in fifth and Tobias Baur in eighth. Ryan Regez, Jonas Lenherr, and Romain Detraz also advanced, alongside Lucas Richard, who joins them for Friday’s races. The fastest qualifying times in the men’s rounds went to Reece Howden of Canada and Sweden’s David Mobärg.

The Swiss team will field a full squad of 11 athletes in Val Thorens. Both men’s and women’s races will unfold over two days, with results yet to be decided. Viewers can catch the action live on SRF from 11 to 12 December during Thursday Night Football.
