Swiss MotoGP Rider Noah Dettwiler Survives Life-Threatening Crash in Malaysia

Swiss rider Noah Dettwiler, aged 20, from Solothurn, has returned home after a severe plane crash in Malaysia on October 26. He was initially rushed to a hospital in critical condition but has since made a recovery, though a long road to full health remains.

The incident occurred during a warm-up session when world champion José Antonio Rueda collided with the rear of Dettwiler's bike. Dettwiler was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital, where MotoGP chief doctor Angel Charte conducted emergency surgery. He removed Dettwiler's severely damaged spleen and ensured the young rider was out of danger.

Dettwiler's father, Andy, shared a photo of them smiling together, indicating a positive turn in Noah's condition. However, Noah must now wear a neck brace for two to three months as part of his recovery. Despite this progress, the road to full recovery is still long, with many injuries needing time to heal.
