Swiss curling team edges past the Czech Republic in a thrilling extra-end finish

The Swiss men’s curling team secured their third victory in the European Championships round-robin with a narrow 10–9 win over the Czech Republic. The tense match went to an extra end, where Benoît Schwarz-Van Berkel delivered the decisive shot to seal the result.

The Swiss side, skipped by Yannick Schwaller and supported by Pablo Lachat-Couchepin, Sven Michel, and Schwarz-Van Berkel, faced a tough challenge from the Czechs. After conceding a three-point house in the 10th end, they fought back to force an additional end.

The Swiss team now prepares for their final round-robin match against Scotland. A win would solidify their position in the standings before the knockout stages. The Czechs, despite the close loss, remain in contention for a potential playoff spot.
