Swimming at Lörick's beach will commence this weekend, kicking off the summer season on Saturday.

The much-anticipated summer season for outdoor pools in Düsseldorf is just around the corner! Here's a summary of the opening schedules for some of the city's popular swimming spots.

Starting on May 17th, Strandbad Lörick will be open to the public. The pool will be accessible from 6 am on weekdays and 9 am on weekends and public holidays, closing at 8 pm each day.

Meanwhile, the Allwetterbad Flingern pool is already operational.

However, no specific information about the opening dates for Freibad Benrath and Freibad Rheinbad has been provided. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, we recommend visiting www.baeder-duesseldorf.de.

In a rotation this season, the Münstertherme and the Gartenhallenbad Unterrath will operate on a rotating shift basis. On weekends, the Münstertherme will be open on Saturdays, and the Unterrath pool will be open on Sundays.

Interestingly, the Gartenhallenbad Unterrath will be open in the afternoons, while the Münstertherme will operate in the mornings. Unlike the Strandbad Lörick, the Gartenhallenbad Unterrath will not have cashiers. Instead, a ticket machine offering discounted tickets based on a dynamic pricing system will be available.

Achim Freund, head of the bathing operations, stated that the rotating single-shift operation was useful last year and allows for targeted and efficient use of resources.

It's worth noting that the opening of Freibad Benrath and Freibad Rheinbad is in stages and is expected to be completed by the end of May. These pools are not mentioned to have any ticket machine offering discounted tickets based on a dynamic pricing system, nor have they changed their regular operating hours from those previously stated for Strandbad Lörick.

Lastly, the opening of Freibad Benrath and Freibad Rheinbad is the latest among the public baths in Düsseldorf.

To get the exact and up-to-date opening hours and dates for all outdoor pools in Düsseldorf, we recommend visiting the official Düsseldorf city website or the respective pool’s official pages directly. These pools tend to be managed by the city’s sports or park department.

We hope this information helps you plan your swimming adventures in Düsseldorf this summer!
