Zoe Kravitz Admits to Destroying Taylor Swift's Bathroom During Fire Evacuation
Actress Zoe Kravitz has confessed to causing damage to pop star Taylor Swift's bathroom while staying at her Los Angeles home during the wildfires in January 2025. Kravitz and her mother, Lisa Bonet, were trying to rescue their pet snake, Orpheus, who had slithered into a small hole next to a built-in seat (banquette) in Swift's bathroom.
The rescue attempt resulted in the destruction of the bathroom, as they and the house manager were forced to break cabinets, tiles, and walls to save the snake. Kravitz shared this story on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," describing the chaotic and panicked situation that ensued.
Kravitz and Bonet, along with Orpheus, had been staying at Swift's $25 million Beverly Hills mansion for about two weeks following the wildfires, which had almost destroyed Kravitz's own abode. Kravitz aimed to leave Swift's house better than she found it, but the incident with Orpheus derailed her efforts.
On her last day, Kravitz was cleaning up and trying to be a good house guest when her mother called her on the phone. Kravitz panicked as Orpheus was getting further into the hole in the bathroom. The house manager was called in to help, and he used a crowbar to tear apart the banquette to retrieve the snake.
Despite the damage, Swift was already aware of the incident before Kravitz called to admit what happened. Swift responded with good humor, and Kravitz offered to pay for the repairs. Kravitz also spoke to Swift's manager and asked him not to inform the singer about the incident.
Swift's historic house from the 1930s was a gracious host during the difficult time, providing a safe haven for Kravitz and her family. The story serves as a reminder of the unexpected challenges that can arise even in the most ordinary situations, and the importance of keeping a sense of humour in the face of adversity.
