Swiftest Cricketers Reaching 100 Twenty20 International Wickets, Entire List Unveiled: India Pacesetter Breaks Global Mark for Fastest Bowlers
India's fast bowler, Arshdeep Singh, has made history by becoming the first Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 100 wickets in men's T20I cricket. This impressive feat also marks him as the fourth-fastest overall, and the fastest among quicks, to achieve this milestone.
Arshdeep's journey to this milestone began when he made his debut for India in 2019. In just over three years, he has proven his mettle, clocking in at an impressive pace. He surpassed Jasprit Bumrah, the fastest Indian bowler previously, who reached the milestone in 58 matches.
In the Asia Cup campaign, Arshdeep made a strong comeback, opening the bowling alongside Hardik Pandya against Oman. The match, which was part of the tournament, saw Arshdeep finish with figures of 1-37. He picked up the wicket of Vinayak Shukla during Oman's chase, contributing to India's 21-run victory.
Arshdeep is now part of an elite group in the all-time top five fastest to 100 T20I wickets. Rashid Khan, the fastest, took 53 matches to achieve this feat, followed by Sandeep Lamichhane with 54 matches, Wanindu Hasaranga with 63 matches, and Rizwan Butt with 66 matches. Haris Rauf, Mark Adair, and Bilal Khan complete the list, having reached the milestone in 71, 72, and 72 matches respectively.
In the Indian ranks, Arshdeep is now the leading bowler, with Yuzvendra Chahal and Hardik Pandya tied for second place, each with 96 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah follows closely with 92 wickets.
This historic achievement by Arshdeep Singh is a testament to his skill and determination. As he continues to represent India, cricket fans eagerly await more records to be broken by this promising young talent.
