Headline: MeteoNews Forecasts Prolonged Hot Weather Across Switzerland

Meteorologist Roger Perret from MeteoNews predicts that the southern and western cantons of Switzerland will experience midsummer-like temperatures and mostly sunny weather over the next week. The weather will be dominated by an extensive high-pressure zone, leading to sunshine and warmth.

According to Perret's analysis, temperatures are expected to stay around 27 to 30 degrees Celsius in the west and just under 30 degrees in the south, reflecting summery and warm conditions. The beginning of the week may see some transient weather influences, such as a weak warm front in the east, bringing some cloudiness and occasional rain. However, these weather conditions are not expected to significantly impact the southern or western parts, which should remain quite sunny.

From midweek onward, the high pressure will persist, making the weather very warm with sunny spells dominant. The likelihood of thunderstorms will increase as the week progresses.

Perret also predicts that the hot weather will persist in the mountains as well. The temperatures in the mountains will gradually climb, potentially reaching as high as 38 degrees Celsius. The zero-degree snow line, which currently resides at 4,600 meters in the mountains, could potentially rise to 5,000 meters. Such a high altitude for the zero-degree snow line is rare. Localised showers might occur in the mountains, but the overall weather pattern will be warm and sunny.

If the zero-degree snow line reaches 5,000 meters, it would almost be a record. Perret states that the hot weather is expected to persist, saying, "It's here to stay." The weather in the lowlands is expected to remain dry and hot until at least the middle of next week.

In conclusion, MeteoNews forecasts warm, midsummer weather with sunshine and sporadic thunderstorms mostly later in the week in the southern and western cantons, and warm and sunny conditions in the mountains. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the heat.

Weather-forecasting by MeteoNews indicates that the upcoming week will feature prolonged hot weather in the southern and western cantons of Switzerland, with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius.

The meteorologist's analysis also predicts that the persistent high-pressure zone will lead to sunshine and warmth, with an increased likelihood of thunderstorms later in the week.
