**Headline:** Yellow Downpour Warning Issued Across Sweden, Affecting Daily Activities and Football Matches

**Subhead:** Meanwhile, concerns arise over patient safety due to doctors handling administrative tasks, and Swedes adjusting tipping habits amid economic uncertainty.

Heavy rainfall has prompted a yellow downpour warning in several regions of Sweden, urging residents to be prepared for potential disruptions such as localized flooding, traffic issues, and transport delays. The warning, issued by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), is in effect from 2pm on Wednesday to 5am on Thursday for Skåne, Blekinge, and southern Småland, and from 6am-noon on Wednesday in the west of the country.

The heavy rain has already caused flooding in Västra Götaland county, and the rain is expected to continue into Thursday morning. The yellow warning could lead to flooding in basements and stormwater systems, and issues on roads due to the risk of hydroplaning, flooding, and poor visibility.

In addition to the weather-related challenges, the Swedish Medical Association has expressed concern over the impact on patient safety due to doctors having to handle administrative tasks. According to a survey, almost seven in ten Swedish doctors have taken over tasks from other healthcare workers in the past two years, and over half of the doctors surveyed carry out administrative tasks like writing up referrals and health declarations. This shift in responsibilities has affected patient safety, as six in ten doctors surveyed attest.

Moreover, the processing of citizenship applications is picking up pace after a "citizenship freeze" this spring, but still not back at normal levels. Sweden approved 759 citizenship applications in June, a significant increase from the 15 applications granted over the course of April and May. These "naturalisation cases" are the standard kinds of applications by an adult foreigner who wishes to become a Swedish citizen.

Interestingly, the uncertain economic situation in Sweden is causing Swedes to tip less or less often, according to a new survey by Sifo on behalf of Ica Bank. The survey shows that 24% of respondents agreed with the statement that the economic situation has affected their tipping habits.

Unfortunately, several Gothia Cup youth football matches have been cancelled due to the bad weather, adding to the disruptions caused by the yellow downpour warning. As always, residents are encouraged to stay informed, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and take precautionary measures against potential localized impacts.
