Tactical Overhaul: Janssen Steps Up as New Manager for SV Sandhausen - SV Sandhausen undergoes a strategic change as Janssen assumes leadership

Catch the breeze of change blowing through third-tier SV Sandhausen, as they enter the "strategic revamp" phase with veteran coach Olaf Janßen at the helm. Janßen, a 58-year-old stalwart, hails from Viktoria Köln, where he'll be replacing the duo of Dennis Diekmeier and Gerhard Kleppinger who couldn't stem the team's slide down to the penultimate position in the rankings.

If all goes as planned, Janßen, who's just recently announced his departure from the cathedral city, will officially take the reigns following the Baden state cup finals on May 24. The club is also expectant, divulging that information about the sporting department's structural alignment will be disclosed at an opportune time. The candidate for the sporting director role remains a mystery.

"The Right Man for the Job"

SVS president Jürgen Machmeier affirmed, "After thorough analysis, we found our perfect coaching profile. He's the man, and we're convinced that with Olaf Janßen, we'll find our way back to our lost DNA." Known for his ability to nurture fledgling talent and long-term vision, Janßen's approach aligns with the club's objectives, according to the announcement. Additionally, his understanding of structural reconstruction bodes well for the team's future.

Olaf Janßen has a rich coaching career, cut his teeth with teams like Dynamo Dresden, VfB Stuttgart, and FC St. Pauli. He also served as an assistant coach under Bruno Labbadia for VfL Wolfsburg and Hertha BSC. Janßen recently held the reins at Viktoria Köln for four and a half years, where his tenure was marked by several ups and downs, including a hair-raising controversy involving Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper Jonas Kersken (Cologne Chronicle, 2018).
