Five individuals, ranging in age from 29 to 73, have been apprehended under suspicion of being involved in an organized drug trafficking operation in Upper Swabia. The announcement was made jointly by the public prosecutor's office and Ravensburg police headquarters on a recent Wednesday, following months of thorough investigation by the Friedrichshafen criminal investigation department and the Ravensburg public prosecutor's office.

The initial arrests occurred in September, during a handover in Bad Schussenried (Biberach district), where detectives discovered substantial quantities of cocaine at the site. Subsequent searches resulted in the seizure of 100,000 euros in cash and additional illicit substances. Two more men and a woman were arrested in November, following further investigations near Leutkirch (Ravensburg district) and Friedrichshafen (Lake Constance district).

The confiscated drugs are anticipated to significantly contribute to the ongoing probe into organized drug trafficking in the area. The suspects are now facing charges for both drug possession and trafficking.
