In a shocking turn of events, Tyler Robinson, the suspected shooter of right-wing US activist Charlie Kirk, made his first court appearance via video link on Tuesday. Robinson, who is charged with seven counts including murder, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and committing a violent act in the presence of children, remained silent during the hearing.

The prosecution presented DNA evidence from the suspected murder weapon and analyses of surveillance videos as evidence. Robinson allegedly confessed to Kirk's murder in a chat on the Discord platform. A note found under Robinson's keyboard reads: "I had the chance to take out Charlie Kirk and I took it."

Robinson used his grandfather's rifle in the shooting. After the incident, he left the weapon near the crime scene. Robinson expressed that he had hoped to keep the details of the shooting a secret, sending messages to the person he lived with and was in a romantic relationship with, expressing a desire to conceal the truth.

Robinson's romantic partner is a transgender individual, as stated by Robinson's mother. However, the responsible prosecutor, Jeff Gray, did not elaborate on the role of transgender issues in the crime.

Robinson continues to cooperate with the investigating authorities. If convicted, he faces the death penalty. The sources for this article are CNN, AP, and news agency DPA.

It is important to note that this is a developing story, and further details may emerge as the investigation progresses.
