Suspected Individual Sought by Authorities for Alleged Five Sexual Attacks in Close Proximity to Center City, as per Police Reports
In the heart of Philadelphia, authorities are on the hunt for a man suspected of sexually assaulting five women over a two-week period from mid-July to early August 2025. The suspect, described as a Black male, approximately 5-foot-11 to 6-foot tall with long dreadlocks or braids, sometimes worn in a ponytail, remains at large.
The assaults occurred in various locations close to each other, with the first incident reported on July 18 in the 1900 block of Spruce Street, where a woman was walking her dog around 6:40 a.m. The second incident happened on July 19 in the 2000 block of Delancey Street, with a victim entering her apartment at about 3 a.m.
Three additional assaults occurred over the weekend: one on Saturday at 8:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of Waverly Street, and two on Sunday, at 1 a.m. in the 400 block of South 15th Street and at 12:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Webster Street.
Police describe the suspect as "very brazen" and have released images and video footage of him to the public, including footage showing him walking near 16th and Waverly streets. The Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit is actively investigating these incidents and is seeking information about any other potential incidents connected to the suspect.
The Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced official charges against this suspect on August 8, confirming ongoing prosecution efforts. However, the suspect remains at large while authorities continue their investigation and public appeals for information.
At this point, no official information or confirmation is available about connections to incidents outside Center City or to other jurisdictions. Police are focused on this cluster of five assaults and their investigation is ongoing to determine if there are further related cases.
If you have any information regarding this case, you are urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department or the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline (800-656-4673). The National Sexual Violence Resource Center is also a valuable resource for victims of sexual assault.
The investigation into the five-woman assaults in Philadelphia, though intensifying with the release of footage and images, has not yet revealed any connections to war-and-conflicts, politics, general-news, or crime-and-justice beyond the local jurisdiction. The Philadelphia District Attorney's ongoing prosecution efforts highlight the seriousness of this crime-and-justice issue, despite the suspect still being at large.
