In Pittsburgh, a dramatic incident unfolded on a recent day when a white sedan, driven by Donald Phillip Henson, rammed into an FBI security gate. The car was adorned with an American flag and a cryptic message on one of its side windows.

Henson, a former member of the military, was quickly apprehended by authorities. He reportedly invoked the Latin phrase 'sic semper tyrannis,' which translates to 'thus always to tyrants.' This phrase was also uttered by John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of President Abraham Lincoln.

According to court records, Henson is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and damaging government property. The security officer on duty initially thought the driver was having a medical emergency, but Henson made it clear that his actions were deliberate. He claimed he was making a statement.

Investigators, including a bomb squad, searched the crash site for explosives, but none were found. Thankfully, no personnel were injured in the incident.

Last year, Henson filed for bankruptcy, revealing a heavy burden of student loan debt, few assets, a closed business called Insomnia Solutions, and a monthly income of just $281. Public records also list him as a Republican who voted in the 2024 general election. A U.S. Air Force sticker was visible on the car.

The Associated Press holds the copyright for this report. Kathy McCormack, an Associated Press writer, contributed from Concord, New Hampshire, and Dale contributed from Philadelphia.

Christopher Giordano, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI in Pittsburgh, stated that 'This was a targeted attack on this building.' The specific background and motivating factors behind Henson's attack remain unclear, despite his claim of being a former US military member.

As the investigation continues, more details about Henson and his actions may come to light, shedding further understanding on this unexpected event.
