Suspected assassin of Charlie Kirk was driven by affection, rather than politics, according to Montel Williams.
Gabriel Hays, an associate editor for our website Digital, reports on the shocking incident that took place last week at Utah Valley University. The conservative activist Charlie Kirk was allegedly murdered, and the suspected assassin has been identified as Tyler Robinson.
The details surrounding the incident have been the subject of much discussion, particularly in light of Montel Williams' recent comments on CNN's "NewsNight" panel. Williams, a former talk show host, downplayed the political motivations of Robinson and instead suggested that he may have been emotionally driven.
According to reports, Robinson was in a romantic relationship with his roommate, who was in the process of transitioning. Text conversations between Robinson and his roommate revealed the tender nature of their relationship, with Robinson referring to his partner as "my love" multiple times.
In one text exchange, Robinson wrote that he had hoped to keep their relationship a secret until his old age. This sentiment was echoed by ABC News reporter Matt Gutman, who reflected on the touching nature of the texts between the suspected assassin and his partner.
However, Gutman also expressed regret for the tone of his initial reporting, admitting that he did a poor job of trying to contrast the horrific crime the suspected assassin allegedly committed with the soft tone of his texts.
Montel Williams argued that Robinson's romantic relationship with his partner was the real motivator for the crime, not his ideology. He described the suspected assassin as a "lovetorn child" and a "kid" who was in his first real relationship.
Despite these revelations, there is no publicly known information about the fiancé of the suspect Tyler Robinson. No sources mention any person as his fiancé.
The investigation into the murder of Charlie Kirk is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days. As always, we will continue to bring you the latest updates as they become available.
