Suspect in the Charlie Kirk murder leaps from a building and traverses the university campus, as captured on video.

In a shocking turn of events, the suspect in the fatal shooting of political activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University has been identified. The perpetrator, a 22-year-old named T.R. from Utah, was arrested after reportedly admitting his involvement to family and friends.

The harrowing incident took place on September 10, 2025, during an event at the university. T.R. allegedly acted alone and used a high-powered rifle from a rooftop to shoot Kirk. The weapon was later found in a wooded area.

The suspect was the focus of a press conference attended by FBI Director Kash Patel, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls, Lt. Gov. Deidre M. Henderson, and Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason. During the conference, Commissioner Mason went through surveillance footage and still images of the person of interest.

The suspect was described as wearing Converse tennis shoes, a black t-shirt with an American Flag and eagle, a baseball cap with a triangle on it, and sunglasses. He was also seen leaving palm impressions and a shoe imprint at the scene.

The press conference was not without strong words. Lt. Gov. Henderson referred to the suspect as an "evil human being." In response, Utah Gov. Cox announced his plans to pursue the death penalty.

The suspect was seen jumping from a building on the university campus after the shots were fired. Afterwards, he moved to the far right corner of the campus. The suspect was later spotted on a roof on campus, across from the quad.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of Charlie Kirk during this difficult time. The investigation is ongoing, and more updates will be provided as they become available.
