In a shocking turn of events, Utah Valley University (UVU) witnessed a tragic incident on Wednesday, as political activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on campus. The location of the shooting was on the Orem campus of UVU.

During a press conference, Governor Cox referred to the suspect as an "evil human being." The conference was attended by FBI Director Kash Patel, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls, Lt. Gov. Deidre M. Henderson, and Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason.

The video of the suspect was shown during the press conference. The footage captured the suspect moving across the UVU campus after jumping from a building. The suspect was wearing Converse tennis shoes, a black t-shirt with an American Flag and eagle, a baseball cap with a triangle on it, and sunglasses.

After shooting Kirk from a rooftop, the suspect jumped off the building and fled the campus, evading immediate capture. An intensive manhunt was launched by the FBI, and later, with the help of the suspect’s father who recognised the FBI’s released images, the 22-year-old was arrested.

The footage also showed the suspect on a roof on campus, across from the quad, after the shots were fired. The high-powered rifle was found in the wooded area where the suspect moved.

The suspect was identified as a person of interest in the surveillance footage and still images reviewed during the press conference. The suspect left palm impressions and a shoe imprint on the grass and parking lot.

Governor Cox announced his intention to pursue the death penalty in this case. The investigation into the murder of Charlie Kirk is ongoing.
