A surprise arrest was made by the police earlier this week, over two months after a tragic shooting outside a shisha bar in Hamburg's trendy Sasel district. The suspect, a 23-year-old, was identified during a routine traffic control check in Bramfeld and was sent to remand prison.
The primary suspect in the shooting, which resulted in the fatal loss of a 24-year-old German-Iranian after an argument, had initially been apprehended three days after the incident in October. Another 30-year-old German was also swiftly arrested on suspicion of murder.
This recent arrest comes as a crucial development in the ongoing investigation, with the police publicizing their findings on Tuesday. Previous activities in the area have revealed an increasing concern over criminality within the district. The community has reported several incidents of violence and illegal activities in recent months.
