Tragic Turn of Events for Vladislav: Two Birthdays, One Traumatic Journey

In an unforeseen twist of fate, 31-year-old Muscovite Vladislav Skorodolnikov found himself caught in the collapse of a bridge in the Bryansk region. He was returning home from family holidays, accompanied by his wife. His brother shared their harrowing journey with KP.RU.

A Twisted Fate

Vladislav celebrated his birthday on May 28th, choosing to commemorate the occasion with his mother's birthday as well. family gathered in Unecha, Bryansk region. Despite the full train being booked, a miraculous turn of events occurred: two seats became available, but in different carriages – 9 and 11. Fate, however, seemed to be guiding them elsewhere - they boarded the train under these circumstances. The journey seemed unremarkable, with a bustling crowd, each lost in their thoughts. Around 9:57 PM, Vladislav and his wife boarded the train at their station.

Suddenly, an unexpected roar, a crash. A railway bridge on the Pilshino-Bygoniichi stretch collapsed at approximately 11:50 PM, located above the railway tracks. The passenger train "Klimovo-Moscow" was passing through at that moment. Vladislav's family learned about the incident from the news. Struggling to reach Vladislav, they only managed to contact him in the early hours of the morning.

  • My brother is now at home, we haven't talked much yet, I'm on the road, there was no connection. He has a neck injury, and his wife has a spinal injury. They managed to get to Bryansk station, where they bought tickets for another train to Moscow, - Vladislav's brother told KP.RU.

The brother also reported that his brother and sister-in-law had to traverse through the forest to reach the Bryansk station, where they purchased tickets for another train to Moscow. Luckily, the couple was located far from the locomotive and the first carriage, which bore the brunt of the impact. The couple aims to consult with doctors.

Latest reports reveal 7 fatalities and 71 injuries in the incident. As rescue efforts continue, the number of injured might change, and some passengers may yet seek medical attention.

Intriguingly, around 3:00 AM the same night, a freight train derailed in the Zheleznogorsky district of the Kursk region after falling from a damaged bridge onto a road. Three crew members sustained injuries. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered investigators to delve into both incidents. The leading hypothesis suggests that these incidents were the result of a deliberate act.
