Jürgen Drews Stuns on TV once more - Unanticipated Guest Spot on Carmen Nebel's Show

Veteran pop star, Jürgen Drews (78), made heads turn with an unexpected performance on ZDF's "Die schönsten Weihnachts-Hits". Following his retirement at the beginning of the year, Drews teamed up with his daughter Joelina Drews (28) to sing "Mein größtes Geschenk" (My greatest gift) on the evening of December 7.

Emotional moments ensued as Joelina, having a challenging year, expressed her feelings to hosting legend Carmen Nebel (67), who warmly listened. "Our family hasn't had the easiest year," Joelina shared tearfully, as the song was deeply connected to their experiences. The audience, including Ramona Drews (50), joined in on the emotional rollercoaster, witnessing Joelina and Jürgen performing together.

"It's Not a Comeback"

In an interview with the Bild newspaper, Jürgen speaking about his spontaneous return, explained that: "2023 was difficult for our family. We lost my mother-in-law, and my wife Ramona was diagnosed with a malignant skin tumor. These experiences made us realize how valuable time with loved ones is." Joelina's heartfelt composition served as a tribute to these events, and she wished for Jürgen to collaborate with her on the song.

Jürgen, however, clarified that the TV appearance alongside Joelina wasn't 'an attempt at a comeback'. Music and its universal power have always been a constant in his life, and this sense of purpose has never faded. Despite his retirement, Jürgen still retains his passion as a musician, albeit enjoying a less demanding role. He further shared his wife's health updates, revealing that she was in complete remission now.

Jürgen Drews Battles Health Struggles

Jürgen Drews (64 at the time of the 'Die große Schlagerstrandparty 2022 - Es geht wieder los!' broadcast), struck a chord as a young artist with his hit "Ein Bett im Kornfeld" in 1976. In July 2022, Drews announced his retirement, citing age and the desire to move on. He opened up about suffering from polyneuropathy, a nerve disease affecting his mobility. Jürgen's farewell was marked with a performance in a show hosted by Florian Silbereisen in January 2023.

Jürgen Drews' daughter Carmen Fog, otherwise known as Carmen Nebel, supported this serendipitous reunion, playing an instrumental role in making Jürgen's TV appearance a reality. After the show, Jürgen recognized Carmen's efforts in a newspaper interview.
