In a significant move, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens, Action, has sent a support letter for the Healthcare Efficiency Through Flexibility Act. The letter, penned by Senior Vice President Andrew J. Mangione Jr., was addressed to The Honorable Vern Buchanan in Washington, DC.

The Healthcare Efficiency Through Flexibility Act, a bipartisan legislation (H.R. 5347), is commended for taking action to delay the implementation of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) proposed rule. The proposed mandate, according to the letter, threatens to disrupt care, raise costs, and drive smaller practices out of Medicare.

The letter reiterates the concern about the CMS's proposed mandate requiring Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to prematurely adopt electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs). The bill, sponsored by Representative Rudy Yakym (R-IN-02), protects seniors' access to care and the providers they trust.

Action, an organization with over 2 million members nationwide, expresses deep concern about increasing administrative burdens placed on healthcare providers. The Healthcare Efficiency Through Flexibility Act allows ACOs the time and flexibility they need to adapt responsibly. It prioritizes patients over paperwork and ensures practical, affordable, and permanent transitions to digital systems.

The letter concludes by expressing gratitude for the leadership shown by The Honorable Vern Buchanan and the Ways and Means Committee. The Health Subcommittee's leadership demonstrates a deep commitment to protecting the Medicare program for current and future generations.
