Spunky Michigan Voter Praises Trump's First 100 Days

A Michigan voter, Becky Godspeed, couldn't be more thrilled with President Donald Trump's performance in his first 100 days. During a chat with MSNBC reporter, Shaquille Brewster on "Morning Joe," she shared her excitement.

Brewster probed Trump voters on their opinions about the immigration policies during the president's first 100 days, and Godspeed, from Grand Rapids Township, had nothing but praise for the current administration. She highlighted the president’s efforts on the border, particularly with regards to illegal immigrants.

"I'm totally excited,” Godspeed told MSNBC, “Trump's killing it. Everyone I know is excited, my biggest issue is the border, and he's nailing it."

/!* background Trump's administration had a torrid start, cracking down on illegal immigration, dismantling operations of gangs like MS-13, and diving headlong into border security. In this first 100 days, the administration reported 95% fewer illegal crossings, a 99% drop in "gotaways" compared to prior periods, and over 139,000 deportations.\ /!**

In the same vein, another Michigan voter, Jay Whitley, also lauded Trump's policies. Coincidentally, both voters shared their thoughts with Brewster from the Grand Rapids Township area. Whitley, while largely in agreement with Godspeed, suggested a softer approach to handling families with vulnerable or innocent members.

Over the weekend, the Trump administration defended their deportation actions after a U.S. District Judge accused the administration of deporting a 2-year-old US citizen to Honduras without due process. The Department of Homeland Security stated that parents were given the option to be deported with their children or have their children placed with someone the parent designates. The department added, "We take our responsibility to protect children seriously and will continue to work with federal law enforcement to ensure that children are safe and protected."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed claims that minors were being deported without due process, deeming it "misleading." He explained, "Three US citizens, aged 4, 7, and 2, were not deported. Their mothers were legally deported, and the children went with their mothers."
