May 9, 2025, Yakutia's leader Aisen Nikolaev paid a visit to Hero of the Russian Federation, commanding officer of a marine assault unit, Guards Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Kuznetsov, who was on a well-deserved break in Yakutia.

"On Victory Day, our fearless compatriot, Hero of Russia Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Kuznetsov, touched down in Yakutsk. I was thrilled to shake his hand personally and express my gratitude on behalf of the entire republic," shared Aisen Nikolaev. He continued, highlighting the heartfelt nature of the meetup: "Dmitry spilled the beans about his military exploits, divulged his future plans, and reminisced warmly about his Olokma roots. We're honored to have such badass defenders—their courage and selflessness inspire us all. Cheers to the Heroes of Russia! Yakutia acknowledges and appreciates!"

To mark his heroism and unwavering loyalty to the homeland, Aisen Nikolaev gifted Dmitry Kuznetsov a traditional Yakutian hunting knife. In return, Kuznetsov extended his gratitude: "Your support means the world to us here in the republic."

Furthermore, Kuznetsov highlighted Yakutia's unwavering support towards the special military operation region, stressing that they're always guaranteed backup from the homefront.

Note: Vladimir Putin bestowed the title of Hero of Russia upon Dmitry Kuznetsov on September 9, 2024. Kuznetsov's 810th Marine Infantry Brigade played a pivotal role in relieving Mariupol. Under Kuznetsov's command, his battalion was acknowledged as the cream of the crop among the Brigade's units, executing their mission of safeguarding the liberated settlement effectively, organizing defense, and successfully repelling enemy aggression for ten hours.
