Support for Israel leads to cancelled comedy show, according to comedian Michael Rapaport's declaration

In a surprising turn of events, comedian Michael Rapaport's show at the Stardome Comedy Club in Birmingham, Alabama has been canceled. The cancellation was due to reports of planned protests and threats over Rapaport's outspoken support for Israel.

According to reports, the Stardome had booked Rapaport "simply as a comedy booking — not to make any kind of political statement." However, in the days leading up to the performance, the club received over 100 messages on social media urging cancellation, along with notice of planned protests at the venue. Concerned about safety, the club decided to cancel the event to maintain a "respectful and safe environment for all guests."

Rapaport, known for his unapologetic stance on Israel, claimed that the venue has not publicly commented on the decision. Our website, Digital, reached out to Stardome for comment but did not immediately receive a response. The event page for Rapaport's show appears to have been removed from the Stardome website, and the preview for the show suggests a broken link.

Rapaport's support for Israel and his demand for the release of the hostages, who have been held in Gaza for 670 days, had led to protests against him. He is not ashamed of his stance and stands by what he says and who he stands with, ending a post with "Am Yisrael Chai," a Hebrew phrase meaning "The people of Israel live."

During a meeting with some incredible people from Chabad of Alabama, Rapaport even wrapped tefillin, a significant Jewish ritual. He added that this experience was a reminder of what really matters.

In a recent post, Rapaport warned Jewish people that "the cavalry ain't coming" to save them, following antisemitic attacks. He urged the Jewish community to stand together and fight for their rights.

This cancellation comes at a time when the world is witnessing increasing polarization and intolerance, and it serves as a reminder that freedom of speech and the right to express one's opinions, no matter how unpopular, are fundamental rights that must be protected.
