In an exciting development for the world of cinema, Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has announced the acquisition of North American rights for the upcoming supernatural thriller Man Finds Tape.

The film, directed by Peter Hall and Paul Gandersman, follows the story of Lynn, a documentarian who returns to her Texas hometown after receiving a cryptic phone call. As she delves into the mystery, Lynn uncovers disturbing footage of events that no one seems to remember.

As she investigates further, Lynn discovers her brother's connection to a once-viral web series called Man Finds Tape, leading her to question the people in her town. The revelation of this connection forms a significant plot point in the film.

The ensemble cast of Man Finds Tape includes Kelsey Pribilski, William Magnuson, John Gholson, Brian Villalobos, Nell Kessler, and others. The film has been produced by David Lawson Jr., Aaron Moorhead, and Justin Benson.

XYZ Films, along with Rustic Films, have served as executive producers for Man Finds Tape, and will continue to sell international rights for the film at TIFF next month. This collaboration between the two production companies is not new, as they have previously worked together on films such as Something In The Dirt, Synchronic, Spring, The Endless, and Resolution.

Magnet Releasing's recent releases include XX, Blade Of The Immortal, Riders Of Justice, and Piggy. The acquisition of Man Finds Tape marks another addition to their impressive lineup.

In other news, XYZ Films' action thriller The Furious from producer Bill Kong will have its world premiere at TIFF. Additionally, the BFI London Film Festival has added Hikari's 'Rental Family' starring Brendan Fraser as its gala title.

As the plot of Man Finds Tape unfolds, Lynn must confront a stranger who arrives in her town, causing her to confront her family's role in a legend tied to a monster stalking the town. The film promises to be a thrilling exploration of the question of Lynn's town's people's involvement in the web series.
