In the world of DC Comics, two iconic characters are set to make their return to the silver screen. The new interpretation of Superman, titled "Man of Tomorrow," has already been released worldwide on July 7, 2025, while the sequel is currently in development.
Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, the latest Superman film presents a unique take on the character. Clark Kent is now a superhero, operating in secret with the help of special glasses to hide his identity. The film follows Superman as he grapples with his alien heritage and the ethical consequences of his actions, while balancing his human life as a reporter.
The movie, which is an adaptation of DC's Superman comics, has already grossed over $500 million worldwide. In the film, Superman faces off against Lex Luthor, who orchestrates events from behind the scenes, and the metahuman known as the "Hammer of Boravia." The sequel to the Superman film is expected to feature Clark Kent teaming up with Supergirl, played by an as-yet-unannounced actress, in a standalone film titled "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow." James Gunn, who is also working on the script for the Superman sequel, is serving as a producer for the Supergirl solo project.
