Superhero film enthusiast accurately foresaw James Gunn's Superman and Lois casting over 1700 days ago, demonstrating the occasional divinely-inspired foresight of humans
The long-awaited Superman reboot, tentatively titled Superman (2025), is now in its final stages of production. British actor David Corenswet has been cast as Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will portray Lois Lane.
The film, written and directed by James Gunn and produced by Gunn and Peter Safran under DC Studios, is set to be the first instalment of the DC Universe (DCU) Chapter One. The production began in early 2024, primarily in Svalbard, Norway, and at studios in Georgia and Ohio, and wrapped in July 2024.
The reboot emerged following the stalled plans for a sequel to Man of Steel (2013) after the release of Justice League (2017). Gunn started working on the project around August 2022, announcing it publicly in December 2022, with the subtitle Legacy dropped before filming began in 2024.
The storyline is said to be influenced by the comic All-Star Superman (2005–2008) by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. However, no specific details about the plot or title of the Superman Saga have been revealed yet.
Though a Twitter user named Kunali B made a prediction about the Superman reboot in December 2020, no direct link to that prediction has been found in current authoritative sources. The known official updates on the casting and production align well with the timeline starting in late 2022 and throughout 2023–2024, indicating the reboot is actively progressed and near completion.
It is worth noting that at the time of the prediction, James Gunn had not yet taken over the DCU, and both The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker season 1 had not been released.
As the release date for the Superman Saga is yet to be announced, fans eagerly await the first look at the new Superman and Lois Lane on the silver screen. Stay tuned for more updates!
