Television Program ZDF Fernsehgarten Cancelled on Sunday - "Sunday's airing of 'ZDF-TVgarten' has been cancelled"
The popular German variety show, ZDF-Fernsehgarten, hosted by Andrea Kiewel, is pressing on with its summer schedule despite a series of interruptions and cancellations.
Since early May, 13 out of 20 episodes have already aired, with the latest episode airing after a temporary evacuation due to a thunderstorm last week. The show was improvised with the inclusion of prominent guests, led by Kiewel, who has been the moderator since 2000.
In a bid to keep the show running, the broadcast was temporarily moved to a small studio, and later, outdoors without the regular audience following the evacuation. However, the show's spirit remains undeterred as it continues to deliver a mix of music, entertainment, and seasonal themes.
The upcoming episodes promise to be as exciting as ever. On August 10th, viewers can look forward to a Schlager party, followed by Miami Vibes on the 17th and Discofox on the 24th. The month of August will also see the finals of a multisport event in Dresden being awarded on the 3rd.
As the show celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, it will culminate with the Oktoberfest theme show on September 28th. In between, there are more themed shows lined up, including Rock in the Garden on September 7th, Let the choirs sing on September 21st, and Time travel on September 30th.
Despite the cancellations on certain Sundays, seven more episodes will air until the end of September, keeping the summer spirit alive. The show, produced live on the Mainzer Lerchenberg, remains a fixed summer staple on ZDF, attracting a wide audience with its diverse musical guests and themed episodes.
There is no public indication that episodes have been permanently cancelled after any Sunday interruption. Instead, the program continues with its planned summer schedule, determined to deliver a memorable season filled with entertainment and joy.
