Sun Peak Metals expands Saudi exploration with 13 new mining licenses near key deposits

Sun Peak Metals Corp. has expanded its exploration efforts in Saudi Arabia by acquiring new licenses near key mining sites. The company now holds 13 exploration licenses covering 1,072 km², with five more applications pending for an additional 200 km². CEO Greg Davis highlighted the strong potential for both VMS and orogenic gold deposits in the selected areas.

The newly acquired licenses are strategically located near major mining operations. They sit close to Ma'aden's Bulghah and Sukhaybarat gold mines, as well as the Nuqrah VMS deposit. The southernmost licenses border the Bulghah mine, while the Nuqrah deposit lies roughly 12 km to the north and the Sukhaybarat mine about 32 km to the east.

Sun Peak secured seven of these licenses in Saudi Arabia's Round 9 auction, adding 632 km² to its portfolio. The areas include historical mineral showings, VMS gossans, and zones of intense hydrothermal alteration. Exploration work has already begun, with teams conducting geological mapping, soil sampling, trenching, and geophysical surveys. Arron Albano, a qualified geologist, oversees the company's Saudi projects. Sun Peak also maintains district-scale VMS and gold projects in Ethiopia, reinforcing its focus on high-potential regions within the Arabian-Nubian Shield.

With 13 active licenses and five more under review, Sun Peak now controls over 1,270 km² of exploration ground in Saudi Arabia. The company's early-stage fieldwork aims to assess the mineral potential of these newly secured areas. Results from the surveys will guide further development in the region.
