Sochi is basking in unusually warm December weather, with residents and visitors making the most of the sunshine. On December 20, 2025, temperatures climbed to 15°C (59°F), creating a summer-like atmosphere along the Black Sea coast.
The mild conditions have drawn locals and tourists to the beaches, where many are sunbathing or walking along the promenade. Overnight lows from December 20 to 21 are expected to stay between 5°C and 10°C (41°F to 50°F), while daytime highs will peak at 17°C (63°F) on December 21.
The sea remains inviting at 14°C (57°F), with calm waters and no wind. However, the warm spell is set to end soon. Rain is forecast for December 22, with temperatures dropping to 16°C (61°F).
The unseasonably warm weather has given Sochi a brief taste of summer in winter. But as rain approaches, the city’s unusual December heatwave is expected to fade by the weekend.
