Summertime fun and camaraderie: 310 kids enjoy their stay at the expansive summer camp in Dietzenbach
Summer Camp at Dietzenbacher Waldstadion Kicks Off Successfully
The high-activity summer camp at Dietzenbacher Waldstadion, a joint initiative by FC Dietzenbach and SG Dietzenbach, commenced in early August 2025. The camp offers an age-appropriate sports program designed to engage children actively in various sports activities.
The camp, which is volunteer-led and sponsored by local businesses including the city of Dietzenbach, Knecht Baustoffe, and EDIE-Strom - the electricity product of Stadtwerke Dietzenbach, has received ongoing support from the local community.
While the exact daily activities at the camp are not detailed, typical offerings at such camps often include team sports, individual exercises, games, and skill development tailored to different age groups, aiming to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and fun.
In the first two weeks, 140 and 170 children participated respectively. However, no information about the number of children participating in the third week was provided. On the nearby open-air cinema grounds, more than 50 children are currently participating in the gymnastics program.
Two experienced coaches, Vanik Saroyan Grigoryan and Noel-Patrice Bergholz-Pfab, are leading a football group for the fourth time. The training groups are adjusted according to the children's experience level, ensuring each child receives the appropriate guidance and support.
Thomas Peterson is responsible for the tennis area, and five groups, each with five children, are supervised on the tennis courts. A special event called "Beat the Tennis Star" is planned for Thursday.
Bettina Benz from the organizing team expressed gratitude to all the annual sponsors of the camp. The camp's presence in the Waldstadion suggests use of stadium facilities suitable for football, athletics, and other outdoor sports.
Approximately 65 children train daily on the two football pitches of the Waldstadion. Fun is the main focus in all sports activities, ensuring the camp remains an enjoyable and enriching experience for all participants.
