Munich - The phrase "Endless Summer" isn't just a popular song that became a sensation during the 2012 football European Championship. It could also describe the weather events happening in the Free State recently. Sun, heat, and summer dominate in Bavaria. Munich kicked off the new week with a smile and temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees. Is the endless summer upon us now? Current weather forecasts sure are making waves.

What's the forecast for Munich until the end of the week? Simple. Sun, sun, and more sun. From Wednesday (18th June) to Sunday (22nd June), the cloud cover will be minimized, and the risk of rain is mere 20% according to Wetter.com. The temperatures will be above 20 degrees every day. Guess what? 30 degrees will be reached again on Sunday!

The reason behind this perfect weather? It's all thanks to High Yvonne, a large-scale weather situation happening over Europe. Meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net explains.

► Wednesday, 18th June: You'll need your sunnies, as temperatures will hit up to 27 degrees

► Thursday, 19th June (Corpus Christi): Prepare for sun and just a few clouds, with temperatures topping out at 28 degrees

► Friday, 20th June: More sunshine temperatures, values up to 25 degrees

► Saturday, 21st June: Ready for some sun and cloudy spells, with temperatures up to 26 degrees

► Sunday, 22nd June: Get ready for more sun and temperatures soaring back up to 30 degrees

But, how long will this summer weather in Munich last? It's a valid question. When you scrutinize the forecasts of the well-known weather models, the summer could carry on well into the new week. According to wetter.com, temperatures above 30 degrees are expected until Wednesday (2nd July) in Munich.

The European weather model continues to predict summer weather and high values, with almost no precipitation, for the Munich area. In western Germany, it might even reach up to 40 degrees! The GFS weather model predicts slightly cooler temperatures and anticipates a significant drop in temperature by Thursday (3rd July), with values of about 15 degrees in the Isar metropolis.
