Summer temperatures are gradually decreasing, yet the season remains warm.
Germany is set to enjoy summery, mild weather over the next few days, as a high pressure system named Kyra brings cooler temperatures and a northwesterly to northerly flow, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).
On Monday, temperatures will reach highs of 24 to 29 degrees, with mostly sunny weather and scattered cumulus clouds. The wind will be mostly light northerly, later turning easterly. However, it will be cooler near the coast.
On Tuesday, the highest temperatures will reach 25 to 31 degrees, with the hottest spots along the Rhine and Moselle rivers and in the Rhine-Main region. Elsewhere, temperatures will range from 19 to 24 degrees, particularly in the North Sea region. It will be mostly sunny and dry, except for the North Sea region.
On Sunday, temperatures will range from 21 to 26 degrees, with temperatures reaching 23 to 28 degrees south of the Main and Moselle rivers. Isolated showers and thunderstorms may occur near the Alps. The thunderstorms that hit southern and eastern Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg this morning are expected to gradually weaken overnight into Sunday.
Meteorologist Julia Tuschy from the DWD in Offenbach explains that these weather conditions indicate cooler, summery weather in Germany. She added that the thunderstorms could reappear in the afternoon.
