Summer Game Fest 2026 launches June 5 with a blockbuster livestream

Summer Game Fest 2026 will kick off on June 5 with a major opening livestream from Los Angeles. The event, mostly digital, will feature presentations from various publishers following the main broadcast. Organisers plan to release the full schedule in spring 2026.

The festival began in 2020 as a livestreamed replacement for E3, the now-defunct gaming expo. This year’s edition will maintain its digital focus, though individual publishers may host their own in-person or online showcases.

After the opening event, participating companies will unveil announcements through separate presentations. Details about the main speakers for the launch remain undisclosed. Summer Game Fest 2026 will wrap up weeks before Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming trade fair, begins on August 26.

The event’s schedule will be finalised and shared in the coming months. Publishers are preparing their own reveals, while the main livestream sets the stage for the festival. Gamescom will follow later in August, continuing the summer's gaming announcements.
