Weather Forecast for Bavaria this Weekend

This weekend promises a mix of sunshine and mild temperatures across Bavaria, making it an ideal start to Oktoberfest. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures in Franconia on Sunday will reach 20 degrees, while the rest of Bavaria will bask in temperatures up to 28 degrees.

The weather will be mostly sunny during the day, with frequent sunshine in most regions. However, Swabia and the Upper Palatinate will experience increasing clouds on Sunday afternoon, and Franconia may see occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

The good weather continues into Saturday night, with no significant rain or showers expected in most of Bavaria. The rest of the night will remain mostly clear or lightly cloudy. On Saturday night, clouds will increase in Franconia.

Weather experts predict a change in the weather for Monday, with temperatures dropping and it becoming cooler. The Oberpfalz will experience rain, with temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius and a fresh southwest wind. In contrast, Schwaben (Swabia) will have considerable cloudiness with mostly dry conditions, and temperatures will drop to around 10°C in places like Babenhausen. Wind and storm warnings apply widely in northern Bavaria, including Schwaben, with gusts up to 60 km/h or more expected, especially in higher elevations.

Temperatures will drop during the night, with values ranging from 8 to 16 degrees. It will be coldest in the Bavarian Forest, with temperatures dropping to the lowest values. Those on the move should not forget a jacket due to the drop in temperature at night.

On a positive note, the weather forecast does not indicate any thunderstorms in Bavaria on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, making it a perfect weekend for outdoor activities. Enjoy the weather and have a great time at Oktoberfest!
