Summer Evening Concert in Oberhausen: Initial Acts and Schedules
Music Summer Night Returns to Oberhausen City Centre
The city of Oberhausen is set to be transformed into an open-air concert venue as the Music Summer Night event returns on Friday, August 29, and Saturday, August 30, 2025. This year, a new stage called "Ruhrgebietssounds" will be set up in front of the P&C building on Marktstraße, joining other stages scattered across the city.
The "Ruhrgebietssounds" stage will host a variety of performances, with Frumpy Hats and Bluesplane scheduled for Friday, and Akustiks, The Candy Project, and Zündholz taking the stage on Saturday. The Schlager duo Bruderherz will also perform Schunkelhits at the "Alte Hut" on Elsaesser Street, while The Sputnicks will perform at this stage on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Sapo Square will host the group Sneaker on Friday and Grubenrock on Saturday. The stage on the Altmarkt will feature Redline with "Gdanska" on Friday and three program points with Brasy Band, Pont Neuf, and The Exmouth Shanty Man on Saturday.
In addition, the wine bar "Traubenschmiede" will share a stage with Mr. Most Money Man on Elsaesser Street, near Marktstraße. Various DJs will perform at the "Traubenschmiede" on Friday, with Trouble Shooter, Mr. Most Money Man, and Starcrush taking the stage on Saturday. DJ Hekmeck will also perform at the "Alte Hut".
The Opinion Rock Festival, located nearby, will offer predominantly rock cover bands, some electronic music, and dosed Schlager. The festival will start on Friday from 17:00 to 22:00 and continue on Saturday from 17:00 to 24:00.
Organized by Indie Radar Ruhr, the event will provide at least six venues and offer around 12 hours of live music over two days. The best part? There will be no entrance fee on either day.
For those who prefer more traditional music, the "Alte Hut" at Elsaesser Street will focus on classics and new trends. The Orphans of Rock and the cover rock group Time will take the stage at the "Alte Hut" on Saturday.
Lastly, a stage will be set up in front of the "Uerige Treff" on Friedensplatz, but the lineup for this stage is yet to be announced.
