Sultan of Pahang hands over house keys to 50 Ru'RASA recipients, advocates for housing equality across races
In a significant event held on September 20, His Majesty Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, presided over a key handover ceremony for Rumah Rakyat Al-Sultan Abdullah (Ru'RASA) in Kampung Paya Luas. Accompanied by the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, the Sultan arrived at 12.20pm and drove himself to the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Sultan Abdullah personally handed over the keys to 50 Ru'RASA homes to recipients from various districts, including Temerloh, Bera, Jerantut, Maran, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, Tanah Merah, and Pasir Mas. The Sultan's gesture was a testament to the state government's commitment to providing affordable housing solutions for its residents.
However, the Sultan's visit was not just about housing. He expressed a desire to closely observe the water supply projects being carried out in all districts of Pahang. The ruler highlighted the water scarcity particularly affecting the areas of Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, and Tanah Merah, and requested a detailed briefing in his office about water supply projects in all districts of Pahang.
His Majesty decreed that the issue of water supply shortages affecting residents in traditional villages and Orang Asli settlements should receive immediate attention. The Sultan expressed hope for an effective resolution of the water issue in the near future.
In addition, Sultan Abdullah expressed hope that housing initiatives like Ru'RASA will be extended to all races in Pahang. He emphasised that these homes, once handed over, should be treasured and maintained appropriately by the people.
The ceremony marked a significant step forward in addressing housing and water supply issues in Pahang. With the Sultan's personal involvement and commitment, residents can look forward to a brighter future in their communities.
