The Emergency Situations Ministry's (EMERCOM) press service in the Nizhny Novgorod region has reported a significant change in the weather, with heavy rains expected to hit the region from the 12th to the 13th of August.

The EMERCOM press service, based in the region, has issued a warning to residents, urging them to plan their routes in advance and, if possible, postpone trips during the heavy rains. It's dangerous to drive into low-lying areas and underground road sections during heavy rains, as water may accumulate there, posing a risk to drivers.

Residents are advised to maintain a safe distance, avoid sudden maneuvers, and choose paved routes whenever possible. Driving conditions in the region will be challenging due to reduced visibility, muddy road shoulders, and slippery roads during the heavy rains. The risk of skidding and loss of traction will increase during these periods.

However, for the immediate hours, there is no forecast of heavy rain in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Current conditions show temperatures around 68 °F with north winds at about 10 mph, and the coming hours into the evening are forecast to be dry and cooling gradually from 69 °F at 6 PM down to 58 °F by 10 PM.

Travelers should remain updated, especially during seasonal weather shifts, as Nizhny Novgorod experiences variable climate conditions with occasional rain over longer periods. To ensure safety during typical rain or light showers in the region, it's advisable to check live weather updates frequently, plan routes avoiding low-lying or flood-prone areas if rain starts, allow extra travel time if roads become wet or visibility reduces, and use headlights and maintain safe distances on wet roads.

The EMERCOM press service has made a weather report for the Nizhny Novgorod region, highlighting the expected weather change as a significant event.
