Successfully concluded first season under new administrative leadership at Stadttheater Ingolstadt

In the heart of Bavaria, Ingolstadt City Theatre concluded its first season under the leadership of Intendant Oliver Brunner, Chief Dramaturg Sonja Walter, Senior Director Mirja Biel, and Director of the Young Theatre Julia Mayr. The season showcased an impressive artistic range and thematic diversity, attracting over 100,000 spectators, corresponding to an occupancy rate of around 80%.

The season stood for courage, experimentation, and clear stance. Classics like Hamlet rubbed shoulders with dense texts by Elfriede Jelinek, while socially relevant topics like The Doctor and summer comedy The Jester in Tower Baur kept audiences entertained. A highlight was the theatrical city walk Gap to Happiness, which featured a 10-member city ensemble from very different social areas.

The theatre opened itself to the city, with initial visible successes, particularly in the production of Istanbul, which sparked great interest among the Turkish communities and brought new perspectives into the auditorium. The piece Pembo and the theatre project The Conference of the Animals involved impressive 45 partner schools.

Intendant Brunner expressed appreciation for the open ears and hearts they've received in their first season. Julia Mayr, Director of the Young Theatre, stated that around 50,000 visitors and participants made use of the diverse formats offered by the Young Theatre. The ensemble and team of Ingolstadt City Theatre expressed gratitude for the audience's trust and positive feedback.

The successes and positive responses from the audience during the 2024/25 season encourage the team for what's to come. The preparations for the coming season 2025/26 at Ingolstadt City Theatre are already in full swing. For the latest updates, visitors are advised to follow Ingolstadt City Theatre's official channels.

The theatre's city dramaturg Lisa Maria Schacher initiated the opening of the theatre into the city, aiming to bring theatre to everyone, regardless of their background or age. This commitment to inclusivity was evident in the diverse ensemble of the theatrical city walk Gap to Happiness.

As the curtains close on the 2024/25 season, Ingolstadt City Theatre looks forward to another year of courage, experimentation, and clear stance, continuing to bring high-quality theatre to the city and its people.

Spectators were kept entertained with classics like Hamlet and socially relevant topics such as The Doctor and summer comedy The Jester in Tower Baur. The theatrical city walk Gap to Happiness, featuring a diverse 10-member city ensemble, also offered entertainment to visitors.
