Successful General Trial of Landesklassler by Sondershausen
In their final warm-up game before the start of the new season, Eintracht Sondershausen II faced local rivals Kreisligist Empor Sondershausen. The match, held on the small pitch in Jecha, ended in a 1:1 draw.
Eintracht Sondershausen II seemed a bit tired during the game, possibly due to the intensity of their previous warm-up matches. However, they managed to take the lead in the 63rd minute, thanks to a brilliant lob from 30 meters by Daniel Hinsche after a mistake by the opposition.
Just eight minutes later, Moritz Böse equalized for Empor Sondershausen with a header, making the scoreline 1:1.
Despite the draw, Eintracht Sondershausen II demonstrated their potential, as they were playing against a higher-class opponent. This was evident when they went on to win the test match against DJK Arenshausen, the state league team that travelled with a squad of 13 players for the game.
Sebastian Schäfer had given DJK Arenshausen an early lead in the 4th minute with a header from a Jannis Klöppner cross and a deflection from Dario Hey. However, DJK Arenshausen struggled to counter-attack on the small pitch, which is more their style, and they were unable to convert their three or four good chances during the match.
Niklas Riethmüller, Captain of DJK Arenshausen, summarized that there was room for improvement and they lacked energy at the end of the match.
With the league season fast approaching, Eintracht Sondershausen II will be looking to build on their performance against Empor Sondershausen when they face top team LSG Großwechsungen in their first league game next Sunday.
