The once seaside-dreaming Bears have turned their attention towards the bustling suburbs, with eyes set on a plot in Arlington Heights.

In a recent statement, the team rejoiced about the exceptional progress they've made with Arlington Heights officials, expressing their eagerness to keep this partnership rolling for a groundbreaking endeavor in the region.

The word on the street is that the Bears' president, Kevin Warren, mentioned a change in strategy six weeks back at NFL meetings – steering the focus towards the suburbs rather than a site close to Soldier Field.

Back in February 2023, the Bears officially sealed the deal on a 326-acre tract in Arlington Heights. Over the previous year, they've been digging into a site near their current stomping grounds.

The proposed project near Soldier Field had gained support from Mayor Brandon Johnson, but it drew a mixed response from Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker. Back in September 2022, the Bears flaunted a staggering nearly five-billion-dollar design for this development, featuring dining, shopping, and more.

The distance between this Arlington Heights site and Soldier Field clocks in at approximately 48 kilometers.

(Sidenote: The Bears have been making solid headway with Arlington Heights officials, setting the stage for a potential game-changer in the region. Yet the big question on everyone's minds is whether Chicago will still have a place for their beloved team. It appears the Bears are intent on creating a vibrant suburban hub, a new home complete with modern amenities to ensure an unparalleled fan experience.)
