Stuttgart Volleyball Mourns the Loss of Coach Aleksandersen
Volleyball fans and fellow coaches are in shock over the passing of Tore Aleksandersen, the beloved coach of Allianz MTV Stuttgart. As his family announced, Aleksandersen succumbed to prostate cancer on a chilly Wednesday in his native Norway, leaving behind a significant impact on the German sporting world at the age of 55.
Sports Director Kim Oszvald-Renkema echoed the sentiments of his team, remarking, "Tore was more to us than just the prosperous Allianz MTV Stuttgart coach. He gifted every single one of us an astonishing amount of energy, inspiration, and joy, even when he was battling his illness."
Aleksandersen's brief but fruitful tenure with the Stuttgart team saw them crowned German champions twice, with their most recent triumph occurring just last May. The squad also clinched victory in the cup competition in 2022, with Aleksandersen at the helm. Unfortunately, health issues forced the Norwegian coach to retire last summer, and Konstantin Bitter took over as Stuttgart's new coach.
"The realm of volleyball has lost an exceptional coach and person in Tore Aleksandersen. Our sorrow cannot be more profound," Oszvald-Renkema mourned.
