Stuttgart Football Club engages in negotiating transfers for the player who was awarded Player of the Year.
VfB Stuttgart and Arsenal are currently engaged in negotiations over a potential transfer of midfielder Fabio Vieira. The discussions are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached yet.
The main point of contention is the transfer fee. Arsenal is demanding up to €30 million (£26.1 million), while VfB Stuttgart is reluctant to pay more than €20 million (£17.4 million), leaving a gap of about €10 million between their valuations.
Vieira, 25, joined Arsenal in 2022 for an initial fee around €35 million plus add-ons. He spent the 2024–25 season on loan at FC Porto, where he was a regular starter, but struggled to establish himself at Arsenal before that. VfB Stuttgart is aiming to sign him permanently this summer.
The German club is considering seizing the opportunity for Vieira's potential exit from Arsenal. They are interested in a loan with an option to buy, depending on certain conditions. A sum of around €20 million was reportedly discussed if the option to buy is exercised.
As of late August 2025, no final deal has been concluded, and Vieira has returned to Arsenal's training to participate in pre-season preparations while talks continue. Arsenal appears keen to recoup a respectable fee close to what they paid in 2022, which is complicating negotiations with Stuttgart.
Meanwhile, VfB Stuttgart has put up a spirited performance in the Supercup, but lost 2:1 against Bayern Munich. The absence of Enzo Millot, who recently moved to Saudi Arabia, was notable in the match. However, the club has decided not to let their offensive star leave the team.
