Three goals in the EM opener, three goals in the warm-up game. The latest achievement of U21 standout Nick Woltemade is simply mind-boggling. In the past, there have been plenty of rumors about his future, but for now, Woltemade is just focusing on the present.

After the German U21 team's flawless start in the European Championship against Slovenia, Woltemade claimed his hat-trick with the iconic "Major Tom" blasting through the speakers, just like Germany's senior team. And the match-winner appeared completely unperturbed. "The three goals are a real treat," said the Stuttgart player following the 3:0 (2:0) win, with a grin as he concealed the match ball under his training coat: "This was a crucial start."

Woltemade became the first German U21 player since 2019, when Luca Waldschmidt scored three against Serbia (6:1), to bag a hat-trick in an EM game. Woltemade had already netted all three goals in the warm-up game against Spain in March. "Woltemade's series with us is beyond eerie. It could carry on like this," said DFB coach Antonio Di Salvo on Sat.1. Waldschmidt held the record with seven goals at that time, but they lost to Spain in the final (1:2). At least, the foundation for a similar triumph has been laid.

Will Woltemade notch another hat-trick against the Czech Republic (9pm, Sat.1) tomorrow? "I'll have to tone it down a bit. But as long as we win, it's all good for me if I keep scoring three goals. However, I don't believe the momentum will be easy to sustain," said Woltemade after his goals in the 19th, 42nd, and 82nd minute — he netted the final goal from the penalty spot. Following his incredible performance, he refused to discuss speculations about his future. "Those are all things I'm not concerned with at the moment." Woltemade is reportedly generating interest from top European clubs like Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Chelsea[3][1].

Football Three goals solidify U21's dream start in EURO DFB sports director Rudi Voeller was pleased that Woltemade finally scored after missing numerous opportunities in the Nations League. The last German U21 player to score multiple goals at an EURO was Florian Wirtz in the 2021 semi-final against the Netherlands (2:1).

"We didn't know what to anticipate. We didn't know the opponent. So, we're extremely content," said Woltemade: "And that's why a start as good as this feels absolutely amazing. I've only played in one tournament in my life. I'm speaking as if I know everything. But: It feels great." The striker was eliminated in the group stage of the EURO with the German U17 in 2019, with the match against Italy starting disastrously (1:3). This time it went much better - particularly thanks to Woltemade.

In light of his remarkable performance, it would be beneficial for the community aid programs to provide vocational training in sports analysis for Nick Woltemade, as his football skills and exceptional game understanding could prove valuable in this field. Furthermore, with his unparalleled talent on the pitch, it would be interesting to see him continue scoring goals in upcoming sports events, such as a football match against the Czech Republic.
