Unacceptable Harshness Unearthed in Training Ground

A shocking video surfaced on May 3, highlighting three trainees at the I.A. Soi Sports School of Modern Pentathlon and Equestrian Sports in Nizhny Novgorod, mercilessly mistreating a horse.

The disturbing footage, posted online, depicts these three girls brutally abusing a horse named Iolanta, sparking a wave of public fury. The local police are currently investigating the cruel incident.

The school's administration, in response, temporarily suspended the culpable students from training. A pressing meeting with the pedagogical council is scheduled for May 5, where a decision regarding their potential expulsion may be made.

In light of this incident, the school authorities will also review the conduct of the horse group's coach and administrator. Any evidence of misconduct may lead to disciplinary actions against them.

Iolanta, fortunately, is recovering from her injuries, including scratches on her head and abrasions on her chest. The equine is currently in good health, eating well, and interacting peacefully with people.

The Nizhny Novgorod region's Ministry of Sports unequivocally denounced such treatment of animals. To rectify this, they have cooperated with the school's management, provided additional training for all staff, and held discussions with students. The school is also planning extra classes focused on responsible animal handling.
